Setting up an import task

Introduction

Import function in Eber enable businesses to efficiently manage bulk data operations including mass user creation, points allocation, and updating transaction records. This feature streamlines data management processes by allowing importing of data from files or FTP folders, significantly reducing manual effort while maintaining data accuracy and consistency.

Key Benefits

  • Significantly reduces manual effort in ad-hoc large data management operations, such as :

    • Mass creation of user profiles

    • Bulk points allocation to selected user groups

  • Supports data recovery and correction for historical transactional records

Step by Step Guide

  1. Navigate to **https://xm.eber.co/import** via browser address bar

  2. Click the Create button in the top right corner

  3. Select the import source:

    • Choose between file upload or FTP folder

  4. Select or upload your data file

  5. Choose a template:

    • Create a new template if none exists

    • Select between transaction template or user template

  6. Perform column mapping:

    • For transaction templates: Map transactional data - Amount ( with or without Item data : Name, SKU, Category etc) or Points related

    • For user templates: Map profile information

  7. Configure additional settings:

    • Choose between new transaction or update existing records (Only for transaction import)

    • Set combine row functions “Combine next row if transaction number match” (Only for transaction import)

    • Configure header row skipping if needed

    • Set up skip string function for excluding non relevant data value (Example : Special Characters like ?!)

    • Set other matching data points (Match Store Id and Match Transaction date, for the case where transaction number is not present, it’s matched base on Store and Date/Time) (Only for transaction import)

  8. Submit the import task and wait for results

Tips

  • Review your data file format (.csv & .xls) before importing to ensure compatibility

  • Double-check column mapping to prevent data misalignment

  • Use the combine row function when dealing with multi-line transactions

  • Keep track of import results for verification
