Similar to enabling email auto messaging, you can also opt to set up SMS notification for specific events. In this article, you will learn how to configure the setup.

How to Enable SMS auto messaging

  1. Navigate to the Messaging, select Activity Message.

  2. The page displays a list of available triggers, categorized for basic and advanced usage.

    Categorizing Triggers (Basic vs. Advanced):

To help manage the numerous triggers, consider categorizing them as "Basic" or "Advanced" in your documentation. This will guide users to focus on the most commonly used notifications first.

    • Basic Triggers: Focus on frequently occurring events like "Points Earned," "Welcome Message," and "OTP Reset."

    • Advanced Triggers: Include less common events such as "Password Reset,"

  3. Each trigger has a corresponding checkbox labeled Notify Member. Check the box for each event you want to trigger a notification.

  4. You may opt to use our default message content or customize your own message content. This allows you to personalize the notification and include specific details relevant to the event.

  5. After enabling the desired triggers and communication channels, it's crucial to test the notification process. Trigger the events yourself (e.g., earn points, change account information) to ensure that the messages are being sent correctly and that the content is accurate. For points-related notifications, you may need to manually add points to a member's account for testing purposes.

  6. If you wish to track the messaging history, navigate to Insights, select Messaging. Use the Email Message or SMS Message tabs to monitor sent notifications. This allows you to track which messages have been sent and identify any potential issues.

Example: Test out your messaging content for Points Earned

  1. Create a test account in your customer database.

  2. Input the test phone number.

  3. Activate the SMS messaging function.

  4. Check for the notification in the phone.
